Winx Club? What I missed out on by growing up. *Spoilers*

Alright. I'll admit it. When I was younger, I really enjoyed the winx club. I actually became curious as to what happened after I grew up and left the series. If you watch it, you probably already know this, but things get weird, extremely weird. Honestly, how many updates will they have? Charmix, Enchantix, Believix, Harmonix, Sirenix? When will they become full-fledged fairies? Doesn't it seem like every new season they get a new form? Well, this I can forgive this because I guess it's required for the story to progress. They have to get more powerful to defeat more powerful enemies. It's also really dumbed down from what I can remember. It seems like it was written for a bunch of 6-year-olds instead of 10-12 year-olds. Or maybe that's just cause I grew up and I'm more judgemental....hmmm...

Now as to what I discovered today. Life sucks for Aisha/Layla.  First she has a name crisis cause I have no clue what the girl's real name is. Are we calling her Aisha or Layla now? Why the name change? Was it really necessary? I don't think so. Ok. For the purpose of this rant let's call her Aisha.

Everyone knows that the winx club is paired up. Bloom is with Skye, Stella is with Brandon, Techna is with Timmy, Flora is with helia, Musa is with Reven (even though this is a very rocky relationship), and Aisha was finally with Nabu. Alright now that we got that clear, let's jump to the problem. Nabu sacrifices himself to save all the fairies, so now he's in an "enchanted sleep" or dead, we really didn't get any real closure on this.

I think it sucks that Aisha had to lose her guy, but then they added insult to injury. They placed  a new specialist, named Roy, as a replacement for Nabu...who is responsible for this ridiculousness? As if the Nabu fangirls are going to forget Nabu and embrace Roy. It's the most forced pairing I've ever seen.

Aisha is still torn up about Nabu's death and the whole thing is just so sad for her. The creators really need to give this girl a break. Just make her happy for once. She's always the one to go through real hardship and I feel like Andros (her home) is always in some trouble.

Anyways, just wanted to say I'm definitely TEAM NABU!!!

Roy needs to go crawl into the insignificant hole he crawled out of. Or just tell us if Nabu is really dead, then we can move on like a regular fanbase.

I won't be watching anymore though. So if you guys know what happens next, Fill me in. :)

But here's a positive: Daphne, Bloom's sister is back! And she has her regular body and everything. Yay!!!

Cress

I'm so excited for this book! You have no idea!
Cress (Lunar Chronicles, #3)

Description from Goodreads:
Rapunzel’s tower is a satellite. She can’t let down her hair—or her guard.

In this third book in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker—unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing stop her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only ones who can.

I know all my fans of the Cinder series are ready to go crazy! Just a couple of months left guys! :)

Change in Direction

I haven't been updating for awhile and that's probably been because this mundane way of choosing a topic, blogging about it in a formal way is messing with my INTJ personality. Haha! It seems so repetitive. So let's move in a new direction. A blog is a blog and I'm going to make it a bit more informal. A window to my thoughts is what you'll receive.

Getting over it

Kicking all those memories of him or her to the curb.

Ok. I get it. It's your best friend, your boyfriend, your favorite cousin, someone you trusted....but they betrayed you and left you hanging to dry. So what to do about it?

1. Try to reconcile. If it can be fixed then there's no reason to go crazy. Just relax. It's going to be ok. Pray and go confront the person with what you're feeling...chances are, they probably don't know they did anything wrong. Maybe they'll apologize, maybe not, but if you really valued that person, isn't it worth it to try to fix the problem?

2. Detaching. What if the person just doesn't want to be in your life anymore or just keeps hurting you over and over again, with no regards to your feelings? This is when it's time to detach. You don't need drama in your life. There is too much bad in the world already, it's important that you're surrounded with positive people who boost you up instead of tearing you down. Limit the amount of time you spend with that person. Don't be rude, be courteous and polite, but let it be understood that you won't be treated like dirt for anybody. However, if the person recognizes they did something wrong at this stage, go back to stage 1.

This is when the conversation starts getting rough....

So you've done everything there is and there's just absolutely no way that they'll be a reconciliation? Ok. I'll tell you what NOT to do. I don't know why, but people always seem to make these mistakes.

Social Networking

Do NOT delete them from your facebook, twitter, etc accounts. There's no need to amplify the situation. Keep your fights away from social networking sites. It only makes it worse. Also, don't stalk their profiles. Don't resort to silly things like that. If they want to talk to you, be open to it. If someone is actually trying to hurt you and keeps feeding you negative things about yourself. Block them. Do not hesitate. Block them without mercy and leave it like that.

Old Messages

If looking at an old message makes you feel sad and lonely, delete it. It's not worth it. It's time to pick up the pieces of your life and move on. No time to dwell on the past. Look forward instead of backwards.

There you go. Some little tips on how to move past someone and make them history. Goodbye for now, see you next week!
God bless! :)

3 Simple Reasons to Smile

I know that life has some ways of beating you down....these could be the usual daily omg. my life sucks moments or it could be the more disastrous everything is falling apart moments. Well when you have moments like these you need to be able to pick yourself up and that's the reason for the post. How do we pick ourselves up after life has kicked us to the curb? One of the best ways to pick yourself up is to realize you have something to smile about. So...leggo!

1. You're alive!!! Yes! No matter how many times life has tried to knock you down, you've always got back up. This time will be no different. You're alive, and that means you're winning...like Charlie Sheen. Sorry, I just had to include that joke. But yes, many people have died, but you're still here. You're still in this race, so make the best of it. Think of the positive things in life. Let's go to number 2!

2.  You don't need a doctoral degree to smile. You just need a basic understanding of the world, everything else is just a plus. So stop undermining yourself and forget all that negativity because you, my dear friend, are one smart cookie.

3. All those happy moments. Remember all those moments where you thought everything was ok, and nothing could ever ruin this moment? Now would be a good time to reflect on those memories. Things weren't always hectic. You had some good times too. Don't forget that. You're way too smart to think life is always a horrible experience. Remember things like getting your first medal in a competition, or graduation, or the best friendships you've had, whatever it takes to get you out of your depressed state.

Tata for now. See you next week. God Bless!

Review: Cinder by Marissa Meyer

Cinder By Marissa Meyer

Title: Cinder
Author: Marissa Meyer
Publisher: Feiwel and Friends
Series: The Lunar Chronicles #1
Link: Goodreads
Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.
Everyone who loves a good story should read this book. This book takes the fairy tale of Cinderella and turns the whole thing around. We meet Cinder, a cyborg mechanic in a dystopian world.

She's a lot like Cinderella with the whole evil step-mother and two step-sisters thing, but it's different because one of her step-sisters is actually nice. Cinder is almost always accompanied by her android, who is might I say...very inappropriate, but you'll fall in love with her all the same. So on to the story shall we...

Cinder is disliked by her step-mother because she is a cyborg. Due to certain circumstances (don't want to spoil it for you!), Cinder gets "volunteered" into the hands of Dr. Erland for him to run tests on her and very interesting secrets are unfolded one by one.

What's a fairy tale without a Prince? Yes, there is definitely romance in the book, but not the kind you would normally think of. There is really no time for Cinder to explore her feelings because...let's just say things are a bit complicated at the moment. How do you tell a prince you're a cyborg?

In the world that Marissa Meyer has created, there exist Lunars who are from the moon. THE MOON! Apparently humans that lived on the moon evolved into these Lunars. They are very powerful, being able to take control of people's thoughts and emotions, they also have an evil queen that can really get into your thoughts...literally. The Lunars have threatened to go to war with earth unless there can be some type of agreement  between Prince Kai and the Lunar Queen. She wants marriage....(over my dead body!)

Plot: 5/5
Characters: 5/5
Writing: 5/5

5/5 stars!

This book was definitely a great read. I recommend it to all book lovers out there, whether male or female. You're going to love how the author takes a fairy tale and turns it into a wonderful, breathtaking universe that has many different twists and turns. My review doesn't do this book justice. Read it for yourself. You won't regret it. When you're done, you'll want the sequel to just fall in your lap.
